The 35th International Symposium on Free Radicals will be held in Hangzhou, China, from September 15 to 20, 2019 (http://www.isfr35.com).

Free radicals play a crucial role in many important reactions involved in combustion and chemical synthesis, as well as in atmospheric and interstellar chemistry. The International Symposium on Free Radicals was established over sixty years ago to bring together researchers at the frontier of this field in a wide variety of topics of free radical chemistry, with particular emphasis on the spectroscopic identification, characterization and reaction dynamics of radicals. The 35th International Symposium on Free Radicals invites world experts and students to Hangzhou to discuss the most exciting new developments in this research field.

The meeting site, Hangzhou, is located at about 200 km away from Shanghai and is the capital of Zhejiang Province. The city is famous for its beautiful scenery and its rich history and culture. Hangzhou grew to prominence as the southern terminus of the Grand Canal, which extends to Beijing, and has been one of the most renowned and prosperous cities in China for the last century. The city’s West Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is the crown jewel of the city, with many of its best known tourist attractions around. Modern Hangzhou is an emerging technology hub and home to the e-commerce giant Alibaba. In addition to the exciting scientific discussions, you will also have a chance to experience this beautiful city and its rich Chinese culture.

An exciting scientific program that covers most interesting areas in free radical study will be developed. Leading experts in the field are invited to speak at the meeting. Here is a list of the confirmed invited speakers:

Mike Ashfold University of Bristol
Astrid Bergeat University of Bordeaux
Floyd Davis Cornell University
Gustavo Garcia Synchrotron SOLEIL
Tetsuya Hama Hokkaido University
Dwayne Heard University of Leeds
Ann McCoy University of Washington
Mitchio Okumura California Institute of Technology
Hanna Reisler University of Southern California
Hongmei Su Beijing Normal University
Toshinori Suzuki Kyoto University
Craig Taatjes Sandia National Laboratory
Xingan Wang University of Science and Technology of China
Alec Wodtke University of Goettingen
David Yarkony John Hopkins University
Kaijun Yuan Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics

In addition to the invited talks, the meeting will also feature hot topic talks and poster presentations. We encourage scholars and students in the field of free radical study to submit your best works to the symposium as hot topic talks and posters. Special travel grants will also be provided for students and postdocs.

Warmly welcome to the 35th International Symposium on Free Radicals. Preliminary information about the meeting can be found at http://www.isfr35.com.
